Everything always feels quiet when visitors leave. My parents went early on Sunday in the teeth of Storm Ciara, but they made it home OK, with only a "tornado" near Nottingham to cause them any worry. My mood was subdued too, and I didn't make a lot of crafting progress on existing projects. That's OK, the creative urge will return when it is ready, and forcing it does no good whatsoever. Learning to be ok with not being "productive" and just letting my mood gradually improve.. And, yes, it was Valentine's day too.
#04 - Seaweed Shapes (knitting)
Just one square this week, but it's a good one! Having done the horizontal colour stripes last week, I decided to go one further and use all 4 shades in one square, in a checkerboard effect. And you know, it's my new favourite square! Seriously, I need to look at more options for multi-shaded squares because it's lovely. Posed beautifully with a dried rose (left over from a Christmas bouquet!)
#08 - Granny Stripe sampler (crochet)
Several more stripes of this completed, it's almost a cushion sized square now. Trouble is, I don't know what I want to do with it now. I don't think there's enough yarn to make it into a scarf, and my brain is stalled n thinking what else I could use it for. It has been great to do, picking up this forgotten skill, but I find I want to have a finished object in mind when I am making - even if that object morphs several times along the way!
Sparkly black nail varnish for the win though!
